Apple has officially announced the AirPods Pro 3, the next generation of its popular wireless earbuds, bringing major upgrades in sound quality, comfort, and even health tracking. Priced at $249 and launching on September 19, the new AirPods Pro aim to set a fresh benchmark in personal audio.
Smarter Sound With Next-Gen Spatial Audio
The standout feature is improved spatial audio, designed to deliver a more immersive listening experience whether you’re streaming music, watching movies, or gaming. Apple claims the earbuds now offer twice the active noise cancellation (ANC) of the AirPods Pro 2 and four times the ANC power of the original AirPods Pro.
To complement the stronger ANC, Apple has introduced foam-infused ear tips that mold more effectively to the ear canal. Combined with five optimized eartip sizes—up from the usual three—users can expect a more personalized fit and greater comfort during long listening sessions.
Transparency Mode With Live Translation
Transparency mode has also been reimagined. Powered by Apple Intelligence, the AirPods Pro 3 can now perform live translation, helping users understand foreign languages in real time. The earbuds intelligently lower the speaker’s volume during translations so you don’t miss a word, and when two people are both using the new AirPods, the feature works seamlessly between them.
Fitness Tracking Onboard
For the first time, the AirPods Pro line includes health sensors. A built-in heart rate monitor can track your pulse, while calorie tracking offers additional insights for fitness enthusiasts. These new features expand Apple’s wearables ecosystem beyond the Apple Watch.
Longer Battery Life
Battery life has also seen a boost, with the AirPods Pro 3 offering up to four more hours of playback compared to the previous generation—enough to get through a long-haul flight without reaching for the charging case.
Availability and Price
The AirPods Pro 3 will retail for $249 and become available starting September 19, 2025. With advanced noise cancellation, real-time translation, health tracking, and longer battery life, Apple is positioning the AirPods Pro 3 as more than just earbuds—they’re evolving into a full-fledged smart wearable.
