In a significant update to enhance user experience, Netflix has introduced a new feature called Moments, allowing subscribers to save, share, and quickly revisit memorable scenes from their favorite shows and movies.
This feature aims to capture users’ most-loved moments from standout series like Stranger Things or iconic comedy specials, making them easy to rewatch or share.
Initially available on the iOS app, Moments is expected to roll out on Android in the coming weeks, giving Netflix’s mobile users worldwide a convenient tool for scene-sharing and bookmarking.
How to Use Netflix’s New ‘Moments’ Feature
Using Netflix’s new Moments feature is straightforward and integrated directly into the streaming app. While watching, tap the Moments button at the top of the screen to save any scene you want to revisit.
The scene will then be stored in the My Netflix tab, where you can access your Moments collection anytime, making it easy to jump back to your favorite scenes.
The saved scenes aren’t just for private enjoyment; Netflix has added an option to share Moments directly to social media platforms or through messages, making it easier to send iconic moments from your favorite content to friends and followers.
Upon selecting a Moment from the My Netflix tab, the episode or movie will start playing from the bookmarked scene, seamlessly integrating the feature into the viewing experience.
Netflix’s Social Edge and Future Plans for Moments
Although Netflix has had options for sharing entire episodes or movies, Moments adds a new social dimension by allowing users to share specific scenes, much like Twitch’s clip feature or YouTube’s timestamp links.
This focus on bite-sized, shareable content speaks to Netflix’s understanding of how fans engage with media in an increasingly social and mobile-driven world.
Netflix’s blog hinted at potential developments, suggesting that Moments could expand with additional features to personalize and enhance how users interact with content.
