Grammarly is a vital grammar checker for accelerating your editing time and improving your writing quality if you write over the internet, which many of us do.
Grammarly is now available for Google Docs, and below are the steps to follow to use it.
Add Grammarly to Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
It is worth noting that as per the time of writing this post, only Chrome and Firefox users can use Grammarly for Google Docs (it is available as a Google Chrome extension and Firefox extension).
For Chrome, open the browser, go to Chrome Store and search for Grammarly. To begin the download, click on the tab Add to Chrome. The download should be done in less than a minute if you have a good internet connection.
On Mozilla Firefox, go to Add-on and themes, tap on Extensions and search for Grammarly. It should take about a minute for you to install the Grammarly extension.
How to Enable Grammarly on Google Docs
The procedure is identical on Chrome and Firefox. Open a Google Doc after logging into the Google account. Enable Grammarly for Google Docs by clicking on the Grammarly extension button on the top left of your navigation bar.
Toggle on the Check writing suggestions on Google Docs button. Click the button again to turn it on or off and to change your review preferences.
When you access a Google Doc for the first time after installing the Grammarly extension, a pop-up notification shows in the bottom right corner of the window indicating that Grammarly is testing the beta mode for Google Docs.
To make the extension work with Google Docs, click on the Turn it on tab. Grammarly is now operational, as indicated by the message box in the lower right-hand corner. You can choose to Take a tour or avoid it entirely by clicking No thanks.
As soon as you’ve installed and activated the Grammarly Chrome extension, you’ll be able to use Grammarly in any document. Phrases or words that Grammarly deems incorrect are highlighted in red in Docs, just as they are on the web.
For further details, click on them to discover suggestions for resolving problems. If you double-click on a word or a phrase, you’ll see a collection of synonyms for that word or phrase.
As we have seen above, it is possible to use Grammarly on Google Docs. Follow these steps to get a document free of grammatical errors and mistakes.
